If he does leave, and I think he will, Riley will obviously need to go after a transfer QB in the portal. Hopefully if he transfers it will be out of conference. Hell, I could see him tearing it up for several coaches, like Mike Gundy. He's just not there yet, but with the right QB coach and system, he could get there. I hope he finds a team and a system he can excel in next season to earn a shot at redemption, then get a chance in the pros. He may be a jerk, (I don't know that) but a lot of jerks have had very successful college and pro careers. It's possible he hasn't handled those pressures very well but I have to think we still haven't seen the real Spencer Rattler the football player, and he's trying too hard now to show the college football world and NFL that they were not wrong about him.
Spencer Rattler may not be everyone's cup of tea and after Saturday's performance by Williams he may not even be a starting QB, but in his defense, I try to imagine the pressure on a young person trying to fulfill un-realistic expectations on a stage like OU.
